Why I’m starting law school online

An introduction to the project, written before the first class.

I’m preparing to begin studying at Northwestern California University School of Law on December 1, 2026. I plan to document the experience as it happens, from preparing for first-year classes through the work of earning a law degree.

This website has two jobs. First, it will be a chronological record of my own experience, including how I organize studying, the time it actually takes, and what I discover along the way. Second, it will hold original, practical resources that other students may find useful.

My first-year subjects are Contracts, Torts, Criminal Law, and Legal Writing and Research. I’m approaching them with planners, checklists, a proposed weekly study routine, and a willingness to revise methods when experience calls for it.

At this stage, my schedule is a plan, not a demonstrated result. The site will keep that distinction visible as the project develops.

This is a personal student journal, not a publication of NWCU or a substitute for current school instructions or state bar rules.
